General Commander of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, convened an extensive security meeting with chiefs of staff, directors of the General Command departments, and leaders of the security apparatus in a move that signals intensified attention to the nation’s military and security units across all their specializations and missions.
According to a statement from the General Command of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces on Facebook, the meeting aimed to review the operational progress of military and security units in all their specialties and missions, and to follow up on security plans within cities and border areas.
Libya, grappling with its own set of challenges amidst volatile regional dynamics, seeks to fortify its internal and perimeter security to safeguard national stability.
Furthermore, at the General Command headquarters today, the General Commander met with the Dean of the Baraghat tribe, Hajj Abdulsalam Abdulati, accompanied by a number of sheiks and notables of the Awagir tribe.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Razek Al-Nazouri, the Military Public Prosecutor, Major General Faraj Al-Sousa, and the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Faraj Eqaim.
These discussions, and particularly the inclusivity of tribal leaders, signal a concerted effort to consolidate national unity and forge wider cooperation in light of the ongoing regional challenges.
