The Libyan Government-designate, backed by the House of Representatives, has launched an air convoy to deliver urgent aid to Chad in response to severe floods and heavy rainfall that have recently affected various regions in the country.

According to a statement released by the Libyan Government-designate on Saturday, the aid mission was initiated under the direct orders of Khalifa Haftar, General-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, and instructed by Prime Minister Osama Hmmad.

The floods, caused by torrential rains, have resulted in both human and material losses in populated areas of Chad.

The air convoy transported essential supplies from Benina Airport in Benghazi to the Chadian capital, N’Djamena, aiming to alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the disaster.

This humanitarian mission underscores the Libyan government and military’s commitment to supporting neighboring Chad in times of crisis, reinforcing the positive role Libya seeks to play in regional aid and assistance efforts.
