Libya’s Interior Ministry under the Temporary National Unity Government announced the recovery of 27 bodies of undocumented migrants in the border region with Tunisia over the past period.

The Crime Scene Team from the Criminal Investigations Department commenced operations in this regard, according to the ministry’s statement on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

Concurrent with the Crime Scene Team’s activities, the Desert Border Security Division has ramped up patrols along the Tunisian border stretch. This intensified surveillance is aimed at sweeping the region to prevent the influx of migrants.

Security patrols are passing through various checkpoints including “Dahrat Al-Khus, Al-Qazouliya, Tawil Al-Ratba, and Abu Al-Sharaf” extending up to the human checkpoint, as per the Interior Ministry’s statement.
