Abdullah Qadirboh, the head of the Libyan Administrative Control Authority, affirmed his commitment to collaborate with the Chair of the Libya Sanctions Committee within the UN Security Council in combating corruption within Libya. This confirmation came during a meeting held in New York City, where Qadirboh briefed the committee on the Authority’s work and its legal role in addressing financial and administrative corruption.
The meeting, attended by Ambassador Taher El-Sonni, Permanent Representative of the State of Libya to the UN, took place on the sidelines of the tenth session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Administrative Control Authority expressed its willingness to cooperate with the Sanctions Committee and its team of experts in addressing issues related to financial and administrative corruption, aligning with relevant Security Council resolutions. During the visit to the UN headquarters, Qadirboh provided a comprehensive overview of the Authority’s functions.
The Japanese representative, present at the meeting, extended a warm welcome to the collaboration with the Libyan Administrative Control Authority. The representative expressed support for cooperation on all matters pertaining to the Authority’s work in Libya, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in addressing the challenges posed by corruption.
