The Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture announced the suspension of operations in its centres across the Southern and Nabatieh provinces on Monday, in solidarity with residents facing Israeli aggression.

The statement, released by the National News Agency, condemned “the ongoing Israeli attacks targeting our people in the South and Bekaa, especially the systematic bombardment of forests and woodlands.”

The ministry described the escalation as “a blatant assault on lives and property, posing a significant threat to our natural resources, particularly forests.”

In response, all ministry centres in the affected provinces closed for the day to stand with the community against the assault, halting all transactions.

Concurrently, the Israeli municipality of Nahariya announced the suspension of educational activities for Tuesday, following Home Front Command directives.

According to the Israeli site 0404, Nahariya’s municipality informed residents that, despite no changes in the latest instructions from the Israeli military and security forces, schools, kindergartens, daycare centres, special education, and non-essential activities would not operate.

Individual school administrations will update the curriculum online, maintaining coordination with the military and emergency officials for ongoing situation assessments.

The municipality urged continued vigilance and adherence to Home Front Command guidelines as necessary.

These developments follow Tel Aviv’s extraordinary measures in northern Israel, including suspending classes and relocating hospital operations to shelters amid security concerns.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes launched multiple airstrikes on towns in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley and the south, while Hezbollah fired hundreds of rockets into northern Israel in the past 24 hours.
