Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham has been awarded the Best Player in La Liga for the 2023-2024 season.
During the current season, Bellingham has made a significant impact with Real Madrid, featuring in 41 matches across various competitions.
He has scored 23 goals and provided 12 assists. In La Liga alone, Bellingham played 28 matches, netting 19 goals and assisting in 6 others, playing a crucial role in securing the league title for Los Blancos.
After receiving the award, Bellingham commented: “I would like to dedicate it to my teammates, the coaching staff and, most importantly, to the fans of the best club in the world.”
Bellingham joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund last summer in a deal exceeding €100 million.
England’s first game is against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen on 16 June.
Earlier this month, Real Madrid player Toni Kroos announced that he will retire after the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship.
He indicated that the Champions League final next month against Borussia Dortmund would be his last appearance with the Spanish club.
Kroos said in a statement on his Instagram account: “My current football player career will end this summer, after the European Championship. As I have always said: Real Madrid will be my last team.”
