The Jordanian-Omani Committee, led by Ahmad Ali Al-Abadi, gathered to discuss avenues for enhanced bilateral relations between the two nations.
During the meeting, the acting ambassador of Oman to Jordan, Ya’qub bin Badr Al-Ruqaishi, highlighted the longstanding and historical ties that bind the two countries.
Al-Abadi emphasized that the significant relations between Jordan and Oman serve as an exemplary model of international cooperation, with a foundation laid by the late King Hussein and Sultan Qaboos.
These relations have evolved under the leadership of King Abdullah II and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, across various domains.
Al-Ruqaishi highlighted the depth of the existing relations between Muscat and Amman, marked by its distinctiveness.
He also underscored the mutual commitment to advancing these ties across various sectors and fields, particularly in parliamentary, educational, investment, healthcare, and agricultural domains. Such collaboration will benefit both nations and their fraternal populations.
Al-Ruqaishi conveyed Oman’s leadership, government, and people’s pride in Jordan’s exceptional positions, especially the collaborative efforts spanning diverse areas, buoyed by the historical bonds that unite the two sister nations.
In the same vein, Al-Ruqaishi reaffirmed Oman’s steadfast stance, led by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, towards the Palestinian issue, aligning with Jordan’s position.
This includes supporting the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The discussions mark a positive step towards strengthening the bilateral relationship between Jordan and Oman.
As both nations focus on expanding collaboration across multiple sectors, this effort is expected to not only enhance diplomatic ties but also have a positive impact on economic growth and regional stability.
