Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, held a telephone conversation with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Yahya, on Sunday, to discuss efforts to halt Israeli aggression on Gaza and address the humanitarian crisis.

According to a statement from Jordan’s foreign ministry, the ministers also discussed ways to strengthen the fraternal relations between the two sisterly countries.

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to continue working on enhancing cooperation and coordination in various fields, in line with the directives of King Abdullah II and Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The recent escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip began after tensions rose between Palestinians and Israeli forces in East Jerusalem.

The conflict intensified when Israeli police raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during Ramadan, leading to clashes between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli security forces.

Subsequently, Hamas, the ruling authority in Gaza, fired rockets into Israel, resulting in Israeli airstrikes targeting Gaza.

The violence has led to civilian casualties and raised international concerns about the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Various countries and international organizations have called for an immediate ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Jordan and Kuwait, among other regional players, are actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to alleviate the crisis and restore calm in the region.
