King Abdullah II of Jordan has warned of the catastrophic implications of the ongoing war on Gaza, stating that the cost will be borne by all. This statement was made during his meeting with Greek Foreign Minister George Katrougalos at the Al Husseiniya Palace on Tuesday, in the presence of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
The meeting focused on the grave situation in the Gaza Strip. King Abdullah emphasized the immediate need to halt the Israeli aggression on Gaza and end the tragic humanitarian crisis resulting from the war.
According to a statement from the Royal Court, the discussion reiterated the importance of protecting unarmed civilians and ensuring the adequate and sustainable delivery of relief, humanitarian, and medical aid to the region.
The Jordanian monarch also reaffirmed his complete rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank. He stressed the need for concerted efforts to ensure the return of the people of Gaza to their homes.
Additionally, the meeting underscored the necessity of creating a political horizon for the Palestinian issue to achieve a fair and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
