On Tuesday, Jordan announced coordination with Egypt to send aid to Gaza via the Rafah land crossing. The Jordanian Royal Court stated that King Abdullah II has directed the urgent dispatch of humanitarian and medical aid to Palestinians in Gaza.
The aid will be sent through the Rafah crossing, fully and previously coordinated with the Egyptians, according to the Royal Court. It also highlighted the directive to quickly identify and provide for the needs of Palestinians in the West Bank.
The United Nations and other relief agencies have discussed with Egypt sending humanitarian aid to besieged Gaza through Rafah, as reported by “Associated Press”. The report mentioned that Egyptian authorities have contacted Israel and the USA to secure humanitarian corridors in Gaza amidst ongoing Israeli bombardment.
For the second consecutive day, the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing experienced an Israeli airstrike. This action is part of Israel’s effort to halt any chances of aid entering the completely besieged sector.
