Japan Allocates $600,000 in Aid to Afghanistan

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced that Japan has donated $600,000 to the humanitarian aid fund for Afghanistan.

Expressing gratitude for Japan’s contribution, the UN office issued a statement yesterday, Tuesday, via its official Twitter account, as reported by the Afghan news agency Khaama Press today, Wednesday.

Earlier, the World Food Programme (WFP) had announced Japanese aid worth $13 million to the humanitarian aid fund for Afghanistan.

Japan has maintained close relations with the interim government authorities over the past two years and has provided assistance in various sectors, including humanitarian aid, education, and healthcare.

According to a report by the World Food Programme, Japan’s total assistance to Afghanistan has exceeded $73 million over the past three years.
