Italy reported 11,433 new COVID-19 cases between October 10 and 16, slightly down from the 11,887 cases recorded the previous week. The Italian Ministry of Health announced the figures on Saturday.
The number of COVID-19-related deaths increased during this period, reaching 117 compared to 100 in the previous week.
The ministry also noted that 94,880 COVID-19 tests were conducted, with a positivity rate of 12%.
Lombardy recorded the highest infection rates, with the most affected age group being those aged 80 and older.
