Israeli reports on Friday revealed that the Israeli army is nearing the completion of its military operation in Rafah and is expected to announce its withdrawal from the area soon.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, the army is close to concluding its military operations in Rafah, with the exception of the Philadelphia Corridor. However, Palestinian TV reported that the Israeli army launched heavy artillery strikes in western Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
This development comes as the Israeli army begins a new offensive in Khan Younis, following the issuance of new evacuation orders for civilians in the city.
In a separate statement on Friday, the Israeli army announced that it had located and dismantled a multi-level underground tunnel approximately 3 kilometers long in central Gaza.
The tunnel, investigated and dismantled by the Southern Command’s engineering unit and the elite Yahalom unit, contained multiple branches, rooms, weapons, and facilities intended for long-term use by terrorist operatives.
