The state-owned Israeli television channel “Kan” reported on Thursday evening that the military operations conducted by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip have concluded. The channel cited senior security officials who stated that while Israel could return to Gaza if “new intelligence” emerges, the military operations in the Palestinian territory are generally over.

The channel also reported that the Israeli military informed decision-makers that the Hamas Rafah Brigade had been eliminated. Senior Israeli military officials suggested that the time has come to negotiate a deal for the release of hostages, as most Hamas combat units have dispersed.

In a joint statement released yesterday by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, it was mentioned that “over the past 48 hours in Doha, senior officials from our governments engaged in intensive talks as mediators, aiming to reach a ceasefire agreement and secure the release of detainees and prisoners.”

Mediators, including the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, have been actively involved in facilitating ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas to end the conflict in Gaza. The discussions have focused on a multi-phase plan, which includes securing a lasting ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. Despite months of negotiations, gaps remain, with both sides adjusting their demands. The talks aim to prevent further escalation in the region and address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
