The Israeli military announced on Monday the deaths of two hostages held in Gaza, Alex Danzig and Gayev Bukhstab. The military confirmed the deaths based on intelligence information and has informed the families of the deceased. The bodies of the hostages are reportedly held by Hamas.
This determination was made following intelligence data and was certified by a panel of experts from the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Services and the Israeli Police. The Israeli military stated that an investigation into the circumstances of their deaths under Hamas captivity is underway, involving all relevant authorities.
The military is employing a wide range of methods to gather information about the kidnappings and the hostages in Gaza. According to Israeli military radio, there are approximately 120 Israeli hostages in Gaza currently, with 47 reported dead.
Negotiations aimed at brokering a deal to stop the Gaza war and secure the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners have not yet resulted in any concrete outcomes, as the conflict continues into its tenth month.
