Israeli forces have entered Ibn Sina Hospital in the West Bank city of Jenin and have requested its evacuation, according to the Palestinian news agency. This incursion follows earlier clashes between Hamas’s armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, and Israeli forces who entered the Jenin refugee camp.

A short video broadcast by Palestinian television showed medics surrendering at the hospital’s entrance. However, the video did not reveal who they were surrendering to. Palestinian television reported that forces apprehended several medics and transported them to the hospital’s courtyard before arresting some of them. Additionally, it was reported that two people were killed and others injured in an Israeli drone strike on the Hawashin neighborhood in Jenin camp.

Hamas had earlier announced that its armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, was engaging in clashes with Israeli forces who had entered Jenin camp. Subsequently, Israeli forces reportedly arrested several Palestinian youths from a house in Jenin’s Jabriyat neighborhood.

In response to the situation, the Palestinian news agency reported that Israeli forces had sealed off all entrances to the city and isolated it from surrounding towns and villages. Large Israeli army units, accompanied by special forces and military bulldozers, entered Jenin from multiple directions, leading to confrontations with local youth.

An earlier incursion by Israeli forces into Jenin earlier this week resulted in the deaths of 14 Palestinians in another deadly day in the West Bank. Local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces have surrounded the hospital from all sides for several hours, inspecting ambulances in its vicinity. They used loudspeakers to call for the hospital’s evacuation and forced some medics to leave while searching and arresting others.

Israeli troops entered the city and the Jenin refugee camp from various directions, closing all entrances, isolating the city from its external surroundings, demolishing streets, arresting seven citizens, demolishing infrastructure in several locations in the city and camp, and detonating vehicles. Several Palestinians were also injured in drone strikes and Israeli gunfire and were transported to hospitals in the city.
