The Israeli army has initiated a ground operation in Khan Yunis, the main southern area of Gaza, leading to mass evacuations and empty streets as residents flee for safety. Crowds of Palestinians were seen hastily leaving the area after Israeli forces dropped leaflets from planes, ordering an immediate evacuation.

“They threw leaflets at us, ordering us to evacuate,” Reem Abu Hayya told AFP, describing the tense situation as residents tried to escape the impending military operation. The Khan Yunis area had already been under evacuation orders in late July and has experienced heavy fighting earlier this year, resulting in significant devastation.

The latest military action marks a new chapter in the ongoing conflict, with Israeli forces intensifying their operations in Gaza following the earlier evacuation orders.
