Israeli media outlets have reported disruptions in aviation services across all airports in the Hebrew state.

According to “Yedioth Ahronoth” newspaper citing the Tel Aviv Airports Authority, a technical glitch may cause flight delays across all Israeli airports.

Thousands of Israeli travelers are expected to be affected by flight cancellations at various Israeli airports.

Israel boasts a number of airports, with Ben Gurion International Airport being the most prominent, serving as a major operational hub for Israeli airlines.

In 2019, the number of passengers utilizing Ben Gurion Airport exceeded 24 million.

In recent months, the security situation in Israel has been deeply affected by the ongoing conflict with Gaza, characterized by significant military engagements and a rising casualty count. Since the war began on October 7th, there have been over 1,100 fatalities and approximately 8,730 injuries in Israel. These developments are part of a broader escalation that includes intense military operations both in and around Gaza.

The Israeli government has expanded its military actions, including ground operations aimed at dismantling Hamas and securing the release of around 130 Israeli hostages believed to be held in Gaza. This has included operations in areas like Khan Yunis, which have been described as reaching a critical point in achieving these goals.

The conflict has also led to severe humanitarian issues in Gaza, with significant destruction to infrastructure, homes, and critical facilities. Reports indicate that over half of Gaza’s homes, a large percentage of its schools, and numerous hospitals have suffered damage. The situation is exacerbated by movement restrictions and a blockade affecting the availability of essential services like electricity and water, severely impacting daily life and health in the region
