Brigadier General Yahya Rasool, the spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, has called on the international community to assume its responsibility in supporting peace and security and preventing any violations that pose a real threat to Iraq’s stability and sovereignty.
In response to the recent US airstrikes on locations in Al-Qaim and Al-Jurf Al-Nasr in western Anbar, General Yahya Rasool expressed concern over deliberate actions that undermine security and stability in Iraq.
The United States resumed airstrikes against Iraqi military units in these regions.
He pointed out that while positive progress had been made in shaping the future relationship and understanding the roles and tasks of the international coalition and its advisors in Iraq, these actions disrupt this path and violate all agreements and axes of common security cooperation.
General Yahya Rasool emphasized that these unacceptable actions undermine years of cooperation, blatantly disregard Iraq’s sovereignty, and lead to irresponsible escalation at a time when the region is already facing the danger of an expanding conflict, the repercussions of the aggression on Gaza, and the consequences of the unethical genocide being endured by the Palestinian people.
