In a recent statement that has raised eyebrows in international circles, Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani issued a stern warning about potential repercussions for the United States following the assassination of Saleh Arouri.
Arouri, a senior Hamas official, was recently killed in a drone strike in Beirut’s southern suburbs, a region known for its Hezbollah presence.
Ashtiani’s comments come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and highlight the complex geopolitical dynamics at play, especially in relation to Iran’s strategic interests and its stance on regional security.
This development marks a significant moment in the ongoing narrative of regional conflict and the intricate web of international relations.
Reza Ashtiani has emphasized that Iran’s presence in the Red Sea is a guarantee of maritime safety, as reported by Iranian media.
Ashtiani highlighted that the presence of Iranian naval forces in the seas, particularly in the region, is a guarantor of security. “We are monitoring developments in the waters thoroughly,” he said.
The Iranian Defense Minister added, “We support Ansar Allah in all dimensions, but they are independent in their decisions.”
Ashtiani pointed out that his naval forces would be present wherever necessary, dismissing American accusations of Iran targeting ships in the Red Sea.
These statements from Ashtiani follow remarks by the Iranian Foreign Minister regarding the assassination of Saleh Arouri, labeling it a terrorist act. “It proves that the Zionist entity has not achieved its goals in Gaza despite U.S. support,” he said.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also noted that the Zionist entity’s assassination operations in other countries pose a real threat to peace and security.
