The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, announced, Tuesday, that it targeted an Israeli air surveillance base “with a large rocket barrage” in response to the Israeli attack on the Baalbek area in eastern Lebanon yesterday, Monday.
The Hezbollah group clarified that it targeted the “Miron Airbase” in Israel with a large rocket barrage from several launchers, while our correspondent reported the launch of dozens of rockets from southern Lebanon towards the Upper Galilee in northern Israel.
The Israeli army had earlier stated that sirens were sounded in northern Israel after rockets were launched from the Lebanese side.
Israeli media reported that up to 40 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the Miron Airbase.
Hezbollah had earlier announced targeting an Israeli military brigade headquarters in the Golan Heights with sixty Katyusha rockets, in what it called a “response” to strikes that hit the outskirts of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon and attacks on villages and civilian homes, resulting in two deaths among its ranks.
Two Hezbollah members were killed in Israeli airstrikes in eastern Lebanon, the first casualties since the border escalation began, claiming to have targeted an air defense system belonging to the party in response to the downing of one of its drones earlier in the morning.
