Lebanon’s Hezbollah released an almost 10-minute video on Tuesday, showcasing footage of 17 military sites in the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan Heights. The armed group claims this footage was captured by its surveillance aircraft.

This video is the second episode in a series aimed at demonstrating Hezbollah’s surveillance capabilities as tensions rise amid Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza and frequent cross-border exchanges of fire between Lebanon and Israel, according to Reuters.

In June, Hezbollah published a more than nine-minute video purportedly showing surveillance footage of locations in Israel, including Haifa’s airport and sea ports.

Hezbollah’s media relations officer, Muhammad Afif, stated that the video’s release sends a clear message to the enemy and its army. He emphasized the importance of showcasing their technical and technological capabilities in surveillance and information gathering, crucial in times of war.

Lebanese pro-Iranian television channel Al Mayadeen reported in June that unmanned aircraft had bypassed Israel’s defense systems and returned to Lebanon undetected.

Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war last October, Hezbollah has sent both surveillance and attack drones into Israel, expressing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has been escalating for months, raising fears of a full-scale war, which both sides claim they wish to avoid.

The United States and France are currently working on a negotiated settlement to address the hostilities along Lebanon’s southern border with Israel.
