Government sources from Al-Jabalain city, located in the southern part of Sudan, have reported that nearly 400 homes have collapsed following the heavy rainfall witnessed in the past few days. Fortunately, there were no major injuries.

Khartoum – Sputnik. The source disclosed on Tuesday to the news agency “Sputnik” that, “Due to the torrential rains which hit Al-Jabalain city and its neighboring areas in recent days, approximately 400 houses have either partially or completely collapsed. This has compelled the local authorities to relocate the affected residents to other areas to secure accommodation.”

The source further detailed that the “Emergency Committee in Al-Jabalain city conducted an inspection visit to the neighborhoods affected by the floods resulting from the rains.

They assessed the situation, particularly focusing on the main drainage systems.” The spokesperson also pointed out that “Some families whose homes were entirely destroyed have been shifted to safer locations.”

Al-Jabalain city is situated in the southern region of the Republic of Sudan, specifically in the southern part of the White Nile state, which borders the Republic of South Sudan.
