The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed on Sunday that they had captured an unspecified number of Israeli soldiers during a recent operation in the Jabalia camp located in the northern Gaza Strip.

According to a statement from Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Ubaida, “Our fighters executed a complex operation on Saturday afternoon in the northern Gaza Strip. They lured an Israeli force into a tunnel within the Jabalia camp, where they engaged at close quarters, resulting in the killing, capture, and wounding of all its members.”

Hamas also released a video clip showing a person, claimed to be an Israeli soldier, being dragged within a tunnel. However, the authenticity of this video has not been independently verified. The footage also displayed weapons and equipment purportedly belonging to Israeli soldiers.

Responding to these claims, Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee stated, “there is no incident of kidnapping a soldier in Gaza,” directly contradicting the assertions made by Hamas.
