German newspaper Bild cited confidential materials from the German Ministry of Defense saying that the German army is preparing for war against the Russian army.
The German newspaper stated: “An escalation between NATO and Russia may occur in February next year.”
The newspaper mentioned that this is a training scenario that describes step by step, and month after month, how Russian President Vladimir Putin will act and how NATO will defend itself.
The paper added: “In the German army’s scenario, the escalation will start within a few weeks. Soon tens of thousands of German soldiers will enter the battle.”
According to the German scenario, the Russian authorities will launch a new wave of mobilization and will recruit another 200,000 people into the army in February 2024.
Bild newspaper indicates that in the spring, the Kremlin will already launch a wide-scale attack in Ukraine, and against the backdrop of insufficient Western support, the Ukrainian forces will be defeated by June 2024.
After that, according to the scenario mentioned above, ethnic confrontations will begin in the Baltic states, which will force Moscow to move forces and medium-range missiles to Kaliningrad to strike the Suwalki Gap (which connects Kaliningrad with Belarus through Lithuania).
The newspaper emphasizes that NATO, in May 2025, will decide to take “reliable deterrence measures” to prevent any Russian attack on the Suwalki Gap from Belarus and Kaliningrad.
The secret scenario mentioned that the commander of NATO forces will instruct at “zero hour” to move 300,000 military personnel, including 30,000 Germans, to the eastern wing.
Recent years have seen a significant deterioration in German-Russian relations, particularly following Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and its involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. Germany, as part of the European Union, has been at the forefront of imposing sanctions on Russia in response to these actions. The German public’s view of Russia has also become increasingly negative over the years. The 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine led to a near-complete reversal of German-Russian relations, with Germany providing significant support to Ukraine against Russian aggression.
