The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday that the death toll in Gaza has escalated to 35,647 due to ongoing Israeli military operations. In the last 24 hours alone, 85 Palestinians were killed and 200 more were injured, raising the total number of injuries to 79,852 since the conflict intensified in October 2023.
The Israeli military has been conducting extensive aerial operations, deploying drones and fighter jets to target approximately 70 locations in Gaza, described as “terrorist targets.” These include military installations, weapon storage facilities, rocket launchers, and surveillance units.
In the northern Gaza Strip, specifically in the Jabalia area, Israeli forces reported neutralizing a group of militants who were actively engaging their troops. Additionally, in Rafah, the southernmost city in Gaza, a drone strike eliminated an individual accused of launching mortar attacks on Israeli forces.
This surge in violence follows a significant attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, where approximately 1,200 people were killed on the Israeli side, and about 250 were taken hostage, prompting Israel to launch a comprehensive offensive in Gaza.
