The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza released the daily statistical report on the number of martyrs and wounded due to the ongoing Israeli aggression for the 177th day on the Gaza Strip. On Sunday, through its official page on the social networking site Facebook, the ministry announced an increase in the toll of the Israeli aggression to 32,782 martyrs and 75,298 injuries since October 7th last year.
It was noted that “the Israeli occupation committed 8 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 77 martyrs and 108 injuries reaching hospitals within the past 24 hours.” The ministry highlighted that “a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads; ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them.”
Earlier, 13 Palestinians were martyred on Sunday following the bombing of various areas in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, by Israeli planes and artillery, including an elderly man in Gaza City, on the 177th day of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the sector.
Medical sources reported that 11 citizens were martyred and dozens injured in the bombing of a group of citizens in Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younis, according to what was published by the Palestinian News Agency “Wafa.”
Additionally, sources stated that a woman and her daughter were martyred in Israeli artillery shelling targeting the Al-Majayda family’s home in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis.
Local sources mentioned that violent explosions shook areas west of Khan Younis city, south of the Gaza Strip. Israeli planes bombed a residential tower in the city of Al-Asra, northwest of Al-Nuseirat, in the central sector. An elderly citizen died from his injuries after his house near Wadi Gaza in the central sector was bombed by the occupation. The occupation artillery targeted homes west of Gaza City, and the occupation forces launched smoke bombs around the Kuwait roundabout south of Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza.
The humanitarian crisis is described as reaching a “dangerous new low” with over 423,000 people displaced, more than 270,000 of whom have sought refuge in UNRWA shelters. The UN has warned that the health system in Gaza is at a “breaking point,” with major hospitals overflowing and critical supplies depleting rapidly.
