The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported on Friday that the death toll from the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip has escalated to 30,878 since the onset of the conflict on October 7th.

According to the ministry, “The Israeli bombardment has resulted in 30,878 fatalities and 72,402 injuries since October 7th.”

“There are still victims under the rubble and in the streets, with the Israeli military preventing ambulance and civil defense teams from reaching them,” the ministry also noted.

The Israeli military’s widespread operations and bombardment in Gaza follow an attack by Hamas on areas around the Gaza envelope on October 7th, which resulted in 1,140 Israeli casualties and 240 people being taken into the Strip.

Out of these, 132 are still held captive, and it is believed that 31 among them have perished. Israel vowed to eliminate Hamas following the attack.

Despite international calls for the Israeli forces to minimize civilian casualties in this new phase of their ground military operation in Gaza, which commenced on December 1st, following the end of a ceasefire with Hamas, the death toll in Gaza continues to rise steadily.

Israeli airstrikes have targeted healthcare facilities and hospitals, and Israel has arrested several healthcare workers during its ground assault.

The healthcare services in Gaza are in a dire situation, as declared by the World Health Organization.
