France Urges Calm on Lebanon-Israel Border

France has expressed deep concern over the escalating military operations along the Lebanon-Israel border, highlighting the gravity of the situation in Lebanon.

In an official statement released on Thursday, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to adhere to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. The ministry reiterated France’s full commitment to preventing any risk of escalation along the Blue Line and to promoting a diplomatic solution.

The Lebanese group Hezbollah and the Israeli army have been exchanging fire across Lebanon’s southern border almost daily since Hamas’s “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation on October 7.

The tensions between the two sides have intensified in recent days, raising fears of a large-scale war that could trigger a regional conflict.
