In a reciprocal move, France has declared two diplomats from Azerbaijan’s embassy persona non grata, as announced by the French Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
This action follows Azerbaijan’s declaration on Tuesday, expelling two employees from the French embassy, citing “conduct that is not compatible with their diplomatic status.”
The French foreign ministry responded with a statement vehemently denying the allegations and expressing its disagreement with the move. The ministry further conveyed that it had summoned Azerbaijan’s ambassador to communicate its stance on the matter.
The diplomatic exchange reflects heightened tensions between the two countries, with each side taking measures in response to perceived diplomatic infractions.
