A large fire broke out near the Israeli Oferet Base in occupied Jerusalem tonight, with approximately 25 firefighting teams working to extinguish the blaze, according to Hebrew media sources.
Israeli Army Radio reported that authorities are investigating the fire, suspecting arson at the base located in the Mount Scopus area, adjacent to the Hebrew University.
Channel 12 reported that 25 firefighting teams, supported by Israeli police and military forces, were deployed to combat the fire.
The channel also indicated that the fire is suspected to have been ignited by a Molotov cocktail.
The spread of the fire caused damage to a wooded area and a container within the campus of the Hebrew University on Mount Scopus. No casualties have been reported, and police have begun an investigation, searching for suspects responsible for throwing the Molotov cocktails that triggered the large fire.
