European gas prices registered a new 6% increase today, Thursday, reaching $480 per thousand cubic meters.
The “Intercontinental Exchange” in London reported in its opening trades today that “gas prices have risen by 6%”, although not at the same pace as yesterday, when prices suddenly leaped by 40%.
The Dutch “TTF” index, the most significant in Europe, clarified during the opening of futures “futures” contracts for September, that “trading is at $446.5 (a decrease of 1.4%). By 6:12 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), it reached $479.6 (an increase of 5.9%).”
Yesterday, gas prices witnessed their highest levels since June 21st, exceeding the $450 barrier and rose during trading to almost $500.
Experts indicated that the surge in gas exchange prices in Europe is temporary and is linked to anticipated temperature rises and a decrease in wind speed.
