The European Union has announced the addition of six individuals and five entities to its sanctions list imposed on Iran due to their connections to supporting Russia in its war against Ukraine.
According to a statement released by the European Union, the United Nations Security Council has imposed restrictive measures on Monday against six individuals and five entities who are involved in Iran’s development and production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) used in the Russian conflict in Ukraine.
These additions mark the first step within the newly established framework of restrictive measures, reflecting Iran’s military support for Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.
The individuals targeted will face asset freezes and travel bans within the EU.
Furthermore, the provision of funds or economic resources, directly or indirectly, to or for the benefit of natural or legal persons, entities, or organizations listed in the sanctions is prohibited.
