On Thursday, a Western newspaper revealed the European Union’s new package of sanctions against Belarus.
The sanctions target 38 individuals and three organizations, in addition to dual-use goods such as drones, computers, and aircraft parts with both civilian and military applications.
Citing European diplomatic sources, Politico reported that the sanctions include restrictions on the export of dual-use items, such as drones and computers that could be used on the battlefield against Ukraine, as well as aircraft parts. The latest package also imposes penalties on 38 individuals and three entities.
The Committee of Permanent Representatives to the EU, known as “COREPER,” approved the adoption of new sanctions against Belarus last Wednesday, as reported earlier by sources to Sputnik news agency.
The implementation of the new sanctions against Minsk is expected to take effect within the current week.
At the same time, a new phase of expanding sanctions against Minsk has begun due to its support for Russia’s military operations in Ukraine.
