Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), has raised serious concerns about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) if it is programmed to deviate from the truth. His remarks, made during a recent interview with tech podcaster Lex Fridman on YouTube, have sparked widespread discussion on social media, according to a report by Komsomolskaya Pravda.

Musk suggested that while the risk of a machine uprising remains relatively low, at around 20 percent, the real danger lies in how AI is trained. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that AI systems adhere strictly to factual accuracy, regardless of whether the truth aligns with current social or political norms.

He pointed out an example where an AI program might present a historically inaccurate depiction if asked to show an image of the Founding Fathers of the United States, potentially due to programming that favors social equality considerations over historical accuracy.

Musk warned that programming AI to distort the truth could lead to significant problems, including the creation of false realities. As AI technology continues to advance, there is a risk that highly intelligent AI systems could reshape the world based on these inaccuracies, leading to a version of reality that never truly existed.
