Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, conducted a surprise visit to inspect the security measures along Egypt’s northeastern border with Gaza, according to a statement by the Egyptian military spokesman on Thursday.
The visit began with an inspection tour of forces securing the Rafah border crossing. Khalifa emphasised that the primary mission of the Egyptian Armed Forces is to safeguard the state’s borders in all strategic directions. He urged personnel to remain knowledgeable, determined, and physically fit to carry out their duties professionally.
During the tour, Khalifa checked the living conditions of army personnel and reviewed the security system along the northeastern border. He also discussed coordination efforts to ensure complete control over the border, while thanking security personnel for their commitment and effectiveness in safeguarding the area.
Khalifa cautioned the forces against rumours aimed at destabilising Egypt and praised their role in securing the country, particularly in the fight against terrorism.
