Yahya Zakaria, the Chairman of the Holding Company for EgyptAir, has announced the launch of new direct flights to Misrata in Libya, as part of EgyptAir’s ambitious plan to expand its network in Africa.

This move is in response to the increasing travel demand between the two brotherly nations, Egypt and Libya.

Starting from January 25, the new route will begin operation with one flight every Thursday, making Misrata the third Libyan destination for EgyptAir after Benghazi and Mitiga in Tripoli.

The inaugural flight MS827 is scheduled to depart from Cairo International Airport at 12:15 and arrive in Misrata at 15:15 Libyan time.

To encourage travel on this new route, EgyptAir has offered a promotional discount on the first four flights. Passengers can enjoy a 50% discount on the first flight and a 25% discount on the subsequent three flights, provided tickets are purchased by January 20.

Customers can book their flights to Misrata through the airline’s official website, its global offices, or through travel and tourism agents.

With the addition of Misrata to its network, EgyptAir will now operate 15 weekly flights to Libya, including seven to Benghazi, seven to Mitiga, and one to Misrata.

This expansion is seen as a strategic move to enhance commercial and economic exchange between Egypt and Libya, especially considering the significant presence of Egyptians living and working in Libya.
