Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aty met with his Spanish counterpart José Manuel Albares on Friday in Madrid.
The meeting focused on the two-state solution and developments in Gaza. Abdel Aty emphasized Egypt’s efforts to broker a ceasefire and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
He expressed appreciation for Spain’s historical support of Palestine, especially its decision to recognize the Palestinian state. Abdel Aty urged more nations to follow suit, seeing recognition as key to Middle East peace.
The Egyptian minister praised the strong political and economic ties between Egypt and Spain. He called for boosting trade and increasing Spanish investment in Egypt, particularly in sectors like infrastructure, transportation, water, and renewable energy.
