A high-level Palestinian source has revealed that a tripartite summit will take place in Aqaba, Jordan, on Wednesday, bringing King Abdullah II of Jordan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The summit aims to discuss the current developments in the Gaza Strip in the context of ongoing Israeli military operations in the region.
According to reports, the summit is scheduled to occur on the Red Sea coast.
It comes in the aftermath of the visit by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to the region, during which he met with several leaders from the Middle East.
Anticipated topics for discussion at the tripartite summit include strategies to halt Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, the provision of urgent humanitarian aid to the region’s residents, and coordinated efforts to address Israeli aggression affecting Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.
The source also indicated that the summit will reaffirm the Palestine Liberation Organization’s status as “the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.”
