The discussion also included a commitment to continue consultations and coordinate positions regarding the evolving situations in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.

President El-Sisi lauded the strategic nature of the bilateral relations, emphasizing Egypt’s eagerness to expand these ties further, both bilaterally and through the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Cyprus.

The call also covered the situation in the Gaza Strip, where President El-Sisi highlighted Egypt’s efforts to cease fire and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.

He stressed the importance of the international community’s responsibility to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and rescue them from their humanitarian plight.

On his part, the Greek Prime Minister appreciated Egypt’s role in promoting calm and agreed with President El-Sisi to continue their consultation and coordination efforts to reinforce security and stability in the region.

El-Sisi met with a bipartisan delegation from the US Congress, led by Sen. Joni Ernst, in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

The meeting included an open dialogue between the president and the US delegation on developments in the regional landscape, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

Sisi reviewed the general context of the current situation, stressing the need to work seriously on a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state per the approved references.
