The Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned the “massacre” committed by the Israeli army in Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip on Saturday evening, which resulted in dozens of civilian casualties and injuries.
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned all massacres committed by “the Israeli occupation” in the occupied Palestinian territories, including a recent massacre at the Tulkarm camp in the West Bank, as well as massacres resulting from airstrikes on the southern suburb of Beirut and various areas in Lebanon. The ministry emphasized its full support for the United Nations agencies working under difficult conditions, notably the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), praising their pivotal roles in supporting humanitarian work and restoring calm, stability, and security.
The Israeli shelling on Saturday night targeted a mosque housing displaced people near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza. The civil defense announced that 21 people were killed in the Israeli airstrike on the mosque. A spokesperson, Mahmoud Bassal, confirmed that 21 people died and dozens were wounded.
Since October 7th, the number of Palestinian victims due to Israeli bombing has reached 41,825, with 96,910 injured, most of whom are children and women.
Egypt welcomed the call by French President Emmanuel Macron to stop the export of arms to Israel due to severe violations of international law and humanitarian law committed by the Israeli army in Gaza and Lebanon. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s statement noted that Israeli violations in Gaza and Lebanon resulted in tens of thousands of civilian casualties, mostly women and children, in clear defiance of the international community.
