Egypt condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on civilians in Gaza, criticizing what it sees as blatant disregard for international law and humanitarian principles.
Egypt called for a unified international response to protect the Palestinian people in Gaza and to end the targeting of unarmed civilians.
Jordan also expressed its strong disapproval of Israel’s actions, criticizing the international community’s failure to hold Israel accountable for what it describes as violations of international law and humanitarian principles.
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the urgent need for the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take responsibility and immediately halt Israel’s aggression against Gaza.
They stressed that Israel’s actions undermine efforts to negotiate a ceasefire and create a significant humanitarian crisis.
The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday, as Israeli airstrikes targeted the school in Gaza City, causing a significant loss of life, particularly among those who had sought refuge in the school.
The death toll is expected to rise as more remains of victims are recovered from the rubble.
The Israeli military claimed that the strike targeted militants operating from within the school, which was being used as a shelter for civilians.
The airstrike resulted in the deaths of nearly all the displaced persons who had taken refuge there, marking one of the deadliest incidents in the ongoing conflict.
