Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated that there is a consensus with the Dutch side on various areas of mutual interest, including illegal immigration.

During a press conference with his Dutch counterpart, Mark Rutte, in Cairo on Wednesday, the Egyptian President emphasized that an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is “imperative”.

He also stated that the decision by some countries to suspend funding for UNRWA contradicts humanitarian norms and values.

El-Sisi clarified that the suffering of the Palestinians would only end with the recognition of the State of Palestine and the pursuit of a two-state solution. Rutte underscored the necessity for 500 trucks of humanitarian and food aid to enter the sector daily.

The Dutch Prime Minister also mentioned that he urged the Israeli side not to undertake a military operation in Palestinian Rafah.
