Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi condemned the United States and all supporters of the Zionist entity for their complicity in the crimes against the people of Gaza. President Raisi argued that these crimes should be attributed to America and the nations that back these criminals, considering them partners in the heinous crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people.
In a press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani, who arrived in Tehran on Monday, Raisi highlighted the strengthening relationship between Iran and Iraq, thanking Iraq for disarming terrorist groups and enemies of the Islamic Revolution within its borders. He also expressed gratitude towards the Iraqi Prime Minister for efforts in establishing the Shalamcheh-Basra railway, deemed vital for both nations.
The two leaders shared common views on the Palestinian issue, emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire and an end to airstrikes and ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Raisi criticized American aid, both military and intelligence, to Israel, accusing it of enabling the continuation of massacres in Gaza. He accused America of hypocrisy, claiming it vetoes UN resolutions to allow Israel to continue its crimes.
Raisi hailed the Palestinian people’s struggle and resilience against the occupying force of Jerusalem, asserting that the world recognizes their victory and does not view the killing of women and children and the destruction in Gaza as a triumph for the occupying entity. He announced Iran’s support for any resolutions by Islamic nations to deter the Israeli entity’s crimes and oppose American policies leading to civilian casualties in Gaza.
He called upon Islamic nations and those with a conscience to not remain silent on these crimes, promising Iran’s backing for any deterrent decisions. Raisi concluded by praising al-Sudani for his constructive stance on Palestine, hoping for a collective decision by Islamic countries to curb the Zionist entity’s atrocities.
Al-Sudani referred to his visit to Iran as a step towards bolstering Iraq-Iran relations, emphasizing the Palestinian issue and the massacres faced by Palestinians at the hands of the occupying force. He reaffirmed Iraq’s steadfast position on the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, describing the recent crisis in Palestine as a result of the occupiers’ crimes against defenseless Palestinians and likening Gaza to a large prison, lamenting the world’s inaction towards this besieged population.
