The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday that the toll of war victims in the region has risen to 32,142 dead and 74,412 injured since October 7th.

The ministry’s daily statistical report stated, “The Israeli occupation committed 7 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 72 martyrs and 114 injuries reaching the hospitals in the past 24 hours.” The report added, “There are still victims under the rubble and on the streets, and the ambulance and civil defense teams cannot reach them.” It was also confirmed that “the toll of the Israeli aggression has risen to 32,142 martyrs and 74,412 injuries since October 7th.”

The war in the Gaza Strip has entered its 168th day, with Israeli forces continuing to target residential areas, especially in the central part of the strip. Meanwhile, international concerns are growing over an anticipated operation in Rafah, south of the strip, which could lead to a humanitarian disaster.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached a crisis level, with the United Nations human rights experts reporting that Gazans now make up 80% of all people facing famine or catastrophic hunger globally. Every individual in Gaza is affected, with a significant portion of the population, including pregnant women and children, facing severe malnutrition and starvation. The ongoing Israeli blockade and military actions have severely impacted the availability of food, water, medical supplies, and shelter, leading to widespread displacement and health crises.

The conditions in Gaza have been described as “shocking, unsustainable, and desperate,” with critical shortages of basic necessities. The international community, including organizations like Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), has called for immediate action to address the humanitarian needs and to seek a political resolution to the conflict.

The United Nations Human Rights Office in the Occupied Palestinian Territory has also highlighted the dire human rights and humanitarian situation, with large numbers of deaths and injuries, extensive displacement, and destruction of civilian infrastructure. The international focus has been on the catastrophic conditions in Gaza, but the situation in the occupied West Bank has also been deteriorating significantly, with increased violence and human rights violations.
