Cristiano Ronaldo Awarded Player of the Month in Saudi League

Portuguese superstar and Al Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, added another accolade to his illustrious career on Tuesday, clinching the award for the Best Player in the Saudi Roshan Football League for the month of September.

The competition was tightly contested, with Ronaldo vying against Moroccan professional, Murad Batna, of Al Fath club. Both players delivered sterling performances over the past month, each netting 5 goals and providing 3 crucial assists across 4 matches. This accolade marks the second consecutive award for Ronaldo, who previously triumphed in August.

In other recognitions, Jeddah Union’s Brazilian goalkeeper, Marcelo Grohe, retained the Best Goalkeeper award after conceding only 4 goals in the past month over 4 matches.

Additionally, Al Nassr’s Portuguese manager, Luis Castro, was bestowed the Best Coach award, following his team’s impeccable performance last month.

In July, Cristiano Ronaldo affirmed that there is no chance of him playing club football in Europe again, adding that the Saudi Arabian league is better than Major League Soccer (MLS).

“I’m 100% sure I won’t return to any European club. I opened the way to the Saudi league… and now all the players are coming here,” Ronaldo said.

“European football has lost a lot of quality. The only valid one and still doing good is the (English) Premier League. They’re way ahead of all the other leagues,” the player continued.

The remarks came just a day after Lionel Messi was unveiled by US side Inter Miami after it was announced earlier this summer that he would be joining the Florida-based team in a £45million-per-year deal.

Ronaldo joined Saudi Al-Nassr following his exit from Manchester United last season in a whopping £ 175 million-per-year deal.
