Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his readiness to work with the United States to enhance stable bilateral relations on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Sino-American diplomatic relations, which was welcomed by the leaders of both countries, according to Chinese state media.

Xi and Biden exchanged congratulations on the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Beijing and Washington. State-run CGTN reported, “On January 1, President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden exchanged congratulatory messages on the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.”

Xi, as reported by AFP, stated that Beijing and Washington must “take concrete actions to enhance the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-US relations.”

CGTN channel stated that the Chinese leader affirmed that he is “ready to work with President Biden to continue pushing forward China-US relations, benefiting China, the United States, and their people, and promoting peace and development in the world.”

Xi also said, according to the same source, that “mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation are the right way for China-US interaction.”

The two presidents met in San Francisco, US, in November last year and pledged to improve communication between their two countries.
