China’s Premier Li Keqiang called for stable relations between his country and the United States on Sunday.
During his meeting with Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, Li stated that the vast Chinese market will always be open to foreign-funded companies,” as reported by China’s state television, CCTV.
Li pledged that China “will continue to work diligently to expand market access,” emphasizing the importance of mutual cooperation in trade and economics between the two largest economies in the world.
The Chinese Premier highlighted the successful example of cooperation between the US and China through the investment of an American electric car company in China’s market.
He stressed that mutual cooperation between China and the US serves the common interests of both countries.
This statement comes after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s recent visit to China, where he met with several top officials to discuss various issues.
Relations between China and the US have been complex and multifaceted. While both countries are major trading partners, they also have significant political and strategic differences, including disputes over trade, technology, human rights, and territorial claims.
The two countries have engaged in various rounds of negotiations and high-level meetings to address these issues and find common ground.
However, tensions between them have persisted, leading to fluctuations in their bilateral relations.
Both China and the US have emphasized the importance of maintaining stability and promoting cooperation in their relationship to foster mutual benefits and global stability.
