Taiwanese shipping company Evergreen Marine, a major container shipping company, announced on Monday that it would temporarily suspend accepting Israeli cargo.

The statement from Evergreen said: “Due to the recent violent escalation of the war, Evergreen will temporarily suspend its Israel import and export service due to increased risks and safety considerations, effective immediately until further notice. We ask for your understanding in these difficult circumstances,” according to markets creener . com.

Earlier today, a British energy and fuel company announced that it plans to suspend the route of its oil tankers through the Red Sea.

British Petroleum said in a statement that “in light of the deteriorating security situation in the Red Sea, the company has decided to suspend all transit operations through the Red Sea, temporarily.”

The company pointed out in its statement that this decision comes in light of the escalation of the frequency of attacks on commercial ships by the Yemeni Houthi group.

Earlier, the UK’s Maritime Trade Operations Agency, operated by the British Royal Navy, said it had received a report from a ship of a possible attack on it in the Red Sea. According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations Agency, there are no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

In the same context, the Yemeni Houthi group announced on Monday that it had carried out a qualitative operation against two ships linked to Israel, confirming that operations to target ships heading to Israeli ports of any nationality are ongoing.

A statement issued by the Houthi group said that “the naval forces of the Yemeni armed forces carried out a qualitative military operation against two ships linked to the Zionist entity, the first ship “Swan Atlantic” loaded with oil and the other ship “MSC Clara” carrying containers. They were targeted by two naval planes.”

The Houthi group announced on November 14, 2022, that it was “starting to take practical measures to deal appropriately with any Israeli ship in the Red Sea,” stressing that “operations against Israel will not stop until its aggression against Gaza stops,” which has been going on since October 7, 2022.

It is worth noting that the leader of the Houthi group, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, announced on October 10, 2022, that his group would participate in missile, air, and “other military options” in support of the Palestinian factions in their confrontation with the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.
