Bin Salman & Zelensky Discuss Holding Peace Summit in Switzerland

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, who also serves as the Prime Minister, welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Riyadh on Tuesday.

The high-profile meeting centered around the latest developments in the ongoing Russian conflict in Ukraine, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to international efforts aimed at resolving the crisis and achieving peace.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed Saudi Arabia’s keenness and support for all international endeavors that seek to resolve the crisis and establish peace, while also continuing efforts to mitigate the humanitarian impacts resulting from the conflict.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry shared glimpses of the meeting on its X platform account, underscoring the importance of the dialogue.

President Zelensky, in a statement on his Telegram channel, described the conversation with the Crown Prince as “meaningful and sincere,” discussing the peace formula and the progress that could be achieved by implementing it.

He emphasized the potential role of Saudi leadership in facilitating just solutions, indicating a collaborative approach towards peace and stability.

Furthermore, Zelensky highlighted discussions with the Crown Prince regarding the preparatory efforts for a global peace summit in Switzerland at the leaders’ level.

“We discussed the content of the summit and the steps that could be taken to restore genuine security for Ukraine, the whole of Europe, and the international community,” Zelensky stated.

This meeting marks a significant diplomatic engagement by Saudi Arabia in the context of the Ukrainian conflict, positioning the Kingdom as a proactive contributor to international peace efforts.

The discussions around the global peace summit in Switzerland further underline the international community’s commitment to resolving the conflict and restoring stability in the region.

As the world watches closely, the collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Ukraine could pave the way for meaningful progress towards peace and security, not only in Europe but across the global stage.
